Jacqueline Staikos is an abstract expressionist artist living in the Quinte region of Ontario, Canada. Her studio is situated in her home in Belleville.
Using oils and mixed media, Jacqueline calls upon imagination and memory to assist in the creative process. As she works intuitively, her work develops spontaneously. The results are high spirited, colorful and vividly emotional.
Those of her paintings that are textured reflect her love of the tactile experience....as running ones hand over rough tree bark.....or the feel of woven materials. A facination with needlepoint and tapestries is displayed in her more highly patterned pieces. Her surreal-like landscapes demonstrate her appreciation for the mysteries of nature.
Unwilling to be pigeon-holed, Jacqueline continues to explore in the genre of self expression.
